Jennifer Lopez has reduced the price of her Los Angeles estate by over $2.5 million, now asking $39.995 million for the property. The Bel Air property, which is located just a few minutes away from the Bel Air hotel, was first listed in February for $42.5 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. The reduction comes 80 days after the original listing.
The estate boasts an 8-acre plot of land, a 12,800-square-foot main residence, a guest cottage, a pool, a putting green, and a 100-seat amphitheater, as per the listing with Brett Lawyer of Carolwood Estates.
Records indicate that the actress and singer, now known as Jennifer Lynn Affleck after marrying Ben Affleck last year, purchased the estate for $28 million in 2016 through a trust.
Designed by architect Samuel Marx in 1940, the main house features natural elements such as stone and woods. With nine bedrooms, a living room with high ceilings, a bar and fireplace, a formal dining room, and a large family room, all rooms open to large stone terraces, as stated in the listing.
The home also features a 30-seat home theater that displays movie posters from films in which Ms. Lopez and Mr. Affleck have starred, including Mr. Affleck’s “Hollywoodland” and Ms. Lopez’s “Monster-in-Law,” as seen in the listing photos.
Ms. Lopez, a multi-talented star known for her hit songs such as “On the Floor,” “Let’s Get Loud,” and “Jenny from the Block,” is currently filming two movies: action drama “The Mother” and sci-fi thriller “Atlas,” both of which will be released by Netflix later this year.
A representative for Ms. Lopez declined to comment, while listing agent Mr. Lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
