Were they wrong to think Steffy would step down from her position of co-CEO?
Brooke and Hope Are Feeling Overconfident
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is certain that she got through to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). The day after she seduced Ridge, Hope (Annika Noelle) visited her at home. Hope wondered if Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) would fight to keep her position.
However, Brooke was confident she had gotten through to Ridge. She’s convinced he’ll pull through for his Logan and make her co-CEO. Hope soaked up some of Brooke’s confidence. She already knew that her mom had a way with Ridge. All she had to do was show a little leg, and she got whatever she wanted.
Hope and Brooke gushed about the thought of her running Forrester Creations alongside Ridge. Brooke reminded Hope that Steffy still had a place there. But she felt certain she had gotten through to Ridge, and her confidence grew throughout Wednesday’s episode.
Brooke and Hope wondered if Steffy would humbly step down or become unhinged. Hope boldly said that Steffy would have to realize that Brooke is the real queen of Forrester Creations. They were too overconfident that Steffy would bow out that easily.
Where Do Ridge’s Loyalties Lie?
During that same episode, Steffy had a difficult conversation with her father. If Ridge had put her needs first, he wouldn’t have suggested that she step down. Steffy has been in this situation with her father countless times. Over the years, he would recommit to Taylor (Rebecca Budig), only to go back to Brooke.\
Ridge claimed that Steffy did a great job running Forrester Creations. She’s worked alongside him as co-CEO for years. She got the company back from Dollar Bill (Don Diamont). And she was the one who helped get the company back after Hope and Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) coup attempt.
Hope and Brooke are convinced that Steffy would be willing to demote herself. They couldn’t be any more wrong. By satisfying his wife’s desires, he risks alienating Steffy. His daughter is not someone who gives up without a fight. Hope and Brooke should know, since they’ve been in her crosshairs before.
There’s a chance Ridge could allow Steffy to remain in the job. Brooke might see his decision as a betrayal, considering all of the contributions she’s made. As for Hope, she will have no choice but to leave Forrester for Logan if she wants her fashion line back.
