Rasmus Hojlund shows true colours as he rips into Man Utd teammate during Copenhagen loss

Rasmus Hojlund was far from pleased with Diogo Dalot as Manchester United suffered a major blow in their hopes of qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League

Rasmus Hojlund expressed his frustration at Diogo Dalot during Manchester United’s dramatic 4-3 defeat against Copenhagen on Wednesday.

The incident occurred after the Danish side equalised for the second time. In the 83rd minute, Copenhagen made it 3-3 as Lukas Lerager tapped home Rasmus Falk’s cross at the back post. Replays showed Dalot switched off to allow Lerager to breeze past him to score.

And it’s safe to say Hojlund was far from pleased with his United teammate. According to the Manchester Evening News, Hojlund was spotted going “ballistic” at Dalot after a lapse in concentration allowed Copenhagen to level.

Rashford sent off for ugly tackle during pivotal Man Utd Champions League clash

Moments later, Copenhagen turned the game on its head as Roony Bardghji fired the ball home to condemn United to their third defeat in four Champions League matches this season. The result leaves the Red Devils bottom of the group and with a mountain to climb if they want to qualify for the last 16.

Speaking after the match, Hojlund said: “Yeah, it is disappointing. I thought we started very well to be honest. We controlled the game until the red card and that changed the game.”

The Red Devils flew into a two-goal lead at Parken as Denmark international Hojlund scored twice within the opening half of an hour. However, Copenhagen were handed a lifeline back into the contest after Marcus Rashford was shown a straight red card.

They took full of advantage of having a player more and scored two quick-fire goals before half-time to level the contest, with Mohamed Elyounoussi and Diogo Goncalves netting for the home side. Fernandes put United back in front from the penalty spot in the second period, before two late goals condemned them to defeat.

“I think we switched off a little bit,” Hojlund added. “We did not think we were going to play a game with 10 men. Of course it is also giving them some belief. I know how the crowd can help the team here and it gave them a big boost.”

“We also did quite good in the beginning of the second half,” Hojlund continued. “We were composed on the ball. We kept switching the ball and then we got the penalty to go in front again. But, it’s unfortunate that we ended up with zero points again.”
