Rapper Saweetie is facing a legal battle after a concert promoter accused her of fraud and breaching a contract, TMZ reports.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Moon Dream Production filed the lawsuit against Saweetie and Icy Grl Touring, claiming the rapper failed to fulfill a series of scheduled performances in Japan.
The documents reveal that Saweetie had agreed to perform four shows in Japan from July 18 to July 26, 2025, for a total fee of $200,000. She reportedly received a $100,000 deposit as part of the deal.
Moon Dream alleges that Saweetie breached the agreement by not performing the scheduled shows. The promoter claims the rapper and her team “utilized all the visa services facilitated by” Moon Dream to enter Japan but then performed at other venues for different vendors during the same dates she was contractually obligated to perform.
The lawsuit also claims that Saweetie and her team refused to return the $100,000 deposit, despite the promoter suffering significant losses, including $100,000 on merchandise and promotional expenses and $200,000 spent on the venues. Moon Dream expected to earn $400,000 in profits from the shows—revenue they now say they missed out on entirely.
In addition to recovering the deposit and other costs, the promoter is seeking $3 million in punitive damages.
At this time, neither Saweetie nor her representatives have publicly responded to the allegations.
This legal drama adds to a growing list of high-profile disputes involving major touring artists, highlighting the high stakes and intense pressures behind global concert deals.
