đź’” Cher Allegedly Cuts Off Financial Support to Son Elijah Blue Allman Amid Conservatorship Battle

Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, is seeking a reduction in his spousal support payments, citing that his mother allegedly cut off his financial support five years ago.

Court documents filed May 5 in the Superior Court of Los Angeles, obtained by PEOPLE, show that Elijah asked to lower the $6,500 monthly payments he currently owes his estranged wife, Marieangela King, to $1,651 per month. He claimed his income without his mother’s contributions is $6,790 after taxes, as he now receives only $10,000 per month from his late father Gregg Allman’s trust. Elijah says Cher stopped sending him recurring funds in August 2021.

Elijah married King in 2013. They separated in 2021, and although he initially filed for divorce that year, he dismissed it “without prejudice” in January 2024. King later filed for divorce in April 2025. Elijah also alleged that King has made “no efforts to become self-supporting” since their separation. The next hearing is set for July 17.

Meanwhile, Cher has recently sought a conservatorship over Elijah due to mental health and addiction concerns. In December 2023, she filed for a temporary conservatorship of his estate, initially requesting to be sole conservator, but later proposing fiduciary Jason Rubin. Her most recent request, filed earlier this year, was denied without prejudice on April 24, allowing her the option to refile.

Cher’s attorney, Justin Gold, stated that Elijah’s condition has worsened since the last conservatorship petition. Allegations include an inability to manage money, heavy spending on drugs, hotels, and limousines, unpaid taxes totaling $200,000, and owing $18,000 to a drug dealer, prompting him to borrow money from a friend for safety. Elijah is currently in a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire, where he is under custody in an attempt to restore competency amid criminal charges.

This ongoing situation highlights both the legal disputes over spousal support and the continuing concerns regarding Elijah’s mental health and financial management.
