The long-running investigation into the death of Chris King has reached a major turning point after authorities announced the arrest of a fourth and final suspect connected to the 2024 fatal shooting of the Los Angeles rapper.
According to Nashville police, 21-year-old Jason Valentine was taken into custody Tuesday on Glenrose Avenue in Tennessee following a multi-state investigation involving several law enforcement agencies. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond and faces charges including first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and firearm-related offenses.
Authorities say Valentine is believed to be the final suspect connected to the incident that claimed Chris King’s life outside a Midtown Nashville recording studio in April 2024.
The investigation stretched across multiple states over the past two years. Earlier arrests included Amir Carroll in Nashville in February 2025, Adrian Cameron Jr. in Los Angeles later that year, and Trayvon Palmer in Las Vegas in early 2026. All four suspects reportedly face similar murder-related charges.
Police say the shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. on April 20, 2024, in an alley near Hayes and Church streets in Nashville. Investigators believe several individuals approached King and members of his group during an attempted robbery before gunfire broke out.
Chris King was struck during the shooting and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. Another man, reportedly 29 years old, was also injured but survived.
King’s death sent shockwaves throughout the hip-hop community, with several major artists publicly mourning the loss. Justin Bieber shared an emotional tribute on Instagram shortly after the news broke, while Trippie Redd described the loss as devastating and credited King with helping shape his career.
