Ronda Rousey steps back into the MMA spotlight tonight for her highly anticipated fight against Gina Carano on Netflix, but many wrestling fans are already wondering whether another return to professional wrestling could eventually follow.
While Rousey appears focused on the future of MVP MMA and potentially taking on a larger executive role alongside the promotion, recent comments suggest the door may still be open for another run inside the wrestling ring — whether in WWE or All Elite Wrestling.
WWE Return Still Possible?
Despite previously criticizing parts of her final WWE run and openly speaking about frustrations involving the company’s leadership structure during the Vince McMahon era, Rousey recently hinted that her relationship with WWE may not be completely closed off.
During an interview promoting the Carano fight, Rousey admitted she has always supported Triple H and believes the environment backstage has improved under his leadership.
“I’ve heard it’s been much better since Triple H took things over, but unfortunately I didn’t get to experience it,” Rousey said.
That statement immediately fueled speculation among fans about a possible future comeback. Although Rousey has remained outspoken about issues she experienced during her time in WWE, many believe a shorter final run under the current creative direction could still happen if both sides are interested.
AEW May Be The More Natural Fit
At the same time, a future appearance in AEW may actually seem more likely based on Rousey’s recent comments and experiences.
Rousey previously made a surprise appearance in AEW during a segment involving Toni Storm and Marina Shafir, and afterward she spoke positively about the atmosphere within the company.
“One thing I really love about AEW is that it’s not PG like WWE,” Rousey explained. “I didn’t feel as edited as before.”
Reports at the time suggested the appearance was intended mainly to help promote her fight with Carano, but many fans felt the interaction with Toni Storm hinted at a storyline that never fully developed.
Rousey also appeared relaxed and energized during her AEW appearance, leading some fans to believe she genuinely enjoyed the creative freedom offered there.
Or Could Rousey Walk Away Completely?
Outside combat sports and wrestling, Rousey has frequently discussed wanting to focus more on family life. The former champion is already a mother of two and has openly spoken about wanting a quieter future away from the spotlight.
“I gotta grow up and go have some more kids, and go to some soccer matches or something,” Rousey recently joked during an interview.
Still, Rousey also understands the influence she has had across multiple industries. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, she reflected proudly on helping women become major attractions in combat sports and professional wrestling.
“I’m very aware that women are headlining WWE because of me,” Rousey said.
Whether her future involves WWE, AEW, MVP MMA, or eventually stepping away entirely, it’s clear that Ronda Rousey still believes she has more left to accomplish.
For now, all eyes remain on tonight’s fight with Gina Carano — but the conversation about her wrestling future is clearly far from over.
