All Elite Wrestling is reportedly showing major interest in bringing former WWE stars Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods into the company following their recent departures from WWE.
According to a new report from WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select, there is reportedly significant interest within AEW in having Kingston and Woods compete in at least one match for the promotion once they officially become free agents.
The report also noted that multiple AEW wrestlers have privately expressed interest in sharing the ring with the longtime tag team stars, who spent more than a decade as part of The New Day.
While Kingston is expected to continue using his established ring name, Woods would reportedly likely return to the “Austin Creed” name outside WWE.
The update comes shortly after reports surfaced claiming Kingston and Woods exited WWE earlier this month after declining revised contracts that reportedly included pay reductions following restructuring under TKO leadership.
Neither wrestler has publicly confirmed their next destination, but speculation surrounding a possible AEW debut has intensified rapidly over the past several weeks.
One current AEW star who openly addressed the possibility was Bobby Lashley. Lashley recently discussed the idea of Kingston and Woods potentially joining forces with The Hurt Syndicate.
According to Lashley, adding the former New Day members to the faction could further strengthen the group’s dominance within AEW and create one of the most high-profile alliances in the company.
If Kingston and Woods ultimately do arrive in AEW, it would mark another major crossover involving longtime WWE stars making the jump to the rival promotion in recent years.
Kofi Kingston is widely regarded as one of WWE’s most accomplished tag team performers and former world champions, while Xavier Woods built a strong following through both wrestling and gaming culture during his WWE run.
