Beyond the historic three-way chart takeover, ICEMAN also delivered another milestone for Drake, becoming his 15th No. 1 album. With this achievement, he officially surpasses Jay-Z for the most chart-topping albums among solo male artists in R&B/Hip-Hop history. Drake now ties Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 albums among all solo acts, trailing only The Beatles, who hold the record with 19.
Industry reports also highlight the scale of the release week, noting that BTS’ “Arirang” leads 2026 overall sales with 641,000 units, while ICEMAN claims the biggest R&B/Hip-Hop album debut of the year, according to Variety.
The rollout for ICEMAN was carefully constructed over nearly two years. Drake began teasing the project in mid-2025 through his livestream series, previewing unreleased music including “What Did I Miss?” and “Which One” featuring Central Cee. The campaign culminated in a surprise announcement during his final pre-release stream, revealing not one but three albums dropping simultaneously at midnight.
All three projects were released on May 15, 2026, immediately dominating streaming platforms and reshaping the Billboard landscape within hours.
