The incident reportedly occurred in late January, but OJ was taken into custody on March 15 by the Georgia State Patrol. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the trooper alleges that OJ was tailgating and honking while merging into the HOV lane. He then reportedly passed the officer, pulled out a black handgun, and pointed it directly at the trooper before speeding away in his Nissan Altima.
Authorities say that when the trooper caught up, OJ allegedly pointed the gun again and continued to drive recklessly, weaving through traffic. Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued, and OJ was taken into custody last week.
OJ Da Juiceman now faces a total of 10 charges, the most serious being felony aggravated assault on a public safety officer. He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of pointing or aiming a gun at another person, a felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and multiple misdemeanor traffic violations.
OJ’s legal team is pushing for bond, arguing that the rapper is a prominent Atlanta artist with strong family and career ties to Georgia, and therefore not a flight risk. They maintain that he should be released pending trial while continuing his professional and personal commitments.
The case is ongoing, and authorities have not yet announced a court date.
