According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, multiple WWE sources reportedly described Corbin as a “locker room favorite,” with several people inside the company said to be supportive of bringing him back.

The update comes just days after veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Corbin’s WWE return had been “heavily talked about” internally.

Baron Corbin, whose real name is Tom Pestock, previously spent more than a decade in WWE and became one of the company’s most recognizable heel characters across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.

While fan reactions to Corbin often varied during his WWE run, many reports over the years consistently praised him as a respected figure backstage due to his professionalism and willingness to work with younger talent.

Now, according to the latest reports, that positive reputation may be playing a major role in discussions about a return.

Adding even more intrigue to the rumors, Dave Meltzer recently speculated that a segment involving Danhausen on SmackDown may have quietly hinted at Corbin’s comeback.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer explained that when Danhausen referenced “something bigger” during the segment, his immediate thought was Baron Corbin.

“On the SmackDown show, when Danhausen was talking about something bigger, my gut was that that’s who it is,” Meltzer said.

“That’s just my speculation, but I just know that he’s been talked with about being brought in.”

Meltzer also noted that while he could not confirm a deal had officially been completed, discussions regarding Corbin’s return were very real.

“It might even be done, but I haven’t had it officially confirmed to me it’s done. But I have 100% confirmed that it’s been heavily talked about.”

A Different WWE Landscape Awaits Corbin

If Baron Corbin does return, he would be stepping into a dramatically different WWE environment compared to the one he left.

The company has undergone major roster changes, creative shifts, and leadership adjustments in recent years, opening the door for former talent to return with refreshed characters and renewed momentum.
