British drill rapper Dsavv has been apprehended by French authorities in La Bouëxière, ending a two-week international manhunt after he smuggled himself out of the United Kingdom. The 21-year-old had been evading deportation to Ghana following convictions for knifepoint robberies in London.
Dsavv, whose real name is believed to be Boakye, had escaped from Lewisham Hospital on February 15, 2026, where he was being held ahead of deportation. This was his second successful escape after a brief earlier breakout from West Middlesex University Hospital. During his time on the run, Dsavv posted videos to Instagram showing himself smoking what appeared to be cannabis and taunting UK authorities, including the Prime Minister and law enforcement, while also releasing a new music video titled “The Race.”
Authorities allege that between June 2021 and January 2022, Dsavv and three accomplices carried out a series of knifepoint robberies across London, stealing over £115,000 in cryptocurrency by coercing victims into revealing mobile banking passcodes. The stolen information was used to purchase top-up cards, book taxis, and order takeout to addresses controlled by the gang, ultimately leading to their capture.
French police worked in coordination with the Metropolitan Police and the National Crime Agency to locate the rapper after he was reportedly smuggled into France in a lorry. Investigators are now looking into whether others assisted in his escape and cross-border evasion.
Dsavv is back in custody and will be returned to the UK, where his deportation proceedings to Ghana will resume. Authorities have emphasized that no leniency will be given for his attempts to evade justice.
