Gucci Mane has addressed the shocking alleged betrayal by Pooh Shiesty and Big30 in his new song Crash Dummy, released on April 10. The track comes just days after the two Memphis rappers were arrested on federal kidnapping and robbery charges connected to an incident in January. Gucci uses the song to recount the ambush at a Dallas recording studio, where he claims Shiesty pulled a gun and forced him to sign paperwork terminating his 1017 contract.
Produced by Zaytoven, Crash Dummy channels Gucci’s mid-2000s trap sound while delivering pointed lyrics directed at the two rappers. Gucci raps about the pressure he felt during the studio encounter, stating, “I thought it was a business meeting, but it was a set up… Pen to the paper, but it’s under duress,” emphasizing that he signed the documents under threat. He also calls out Shiesty’s behavior as learned from his father, highlighting the betrayal he feels from someone he had mentored and financially supported.
Throughout the track, Gucci maintains a defiant tone, asserting ownership over 1017 Records and declaring that he will not allow anyone to dismantle what he built from the ground up. He closes the song with the refrain, “I done been betrayed, now my heart turned cold,” underscoring the emotional impact of the incident.
The criminal case has already moved forward in federal court. Pooh Shiesty and Big30 are among nine individuals arrested in connection with the alleged robbery and kidnapping, which reportedly included assault on Gucci and his associates. Shiesty’s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., was also taken into custody. Court records indicate Shiesty has been denied bond, partly because he was already under home confinement for a previous gun-related case. Big30, meanwhile, was initially granted $100,000 bond, which was stayed at the request of prosecutors. Both rappers face the possibility of life sentences if convicted.
Adding to Gucci’s scrutiny, FBI Special Agent Pamela Hanson testified that the rapper cooperated with law enforcement during the investigation.
