Atlanta police officer Gerald Walker, who fatally shot rapper B. Green last October, is now under scrutiny for multiple incidents involving firearms while on duty. According to reports, Walker had already been investigated for a March 26, 2025, shooting where he discharged a department-issued shotgun at 42-year-old Travis Walker during an altercation at a Sylvan Hills auto repair shop.
Seven months later, Walker killed Hip-Hop artist Linton Blackwell, professionally known as B. Green, while working off-duty security at the 5 Paces Inn in Buckhead. B. Green, 44, a father of twin daughters and prominent Atlanta rapper, was struck 17 times from behind, including 14 bullets in his mid and lower back, two in the upper back, and one in his buttocks, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner. No shots were reported from the front.
B. Green’s family is questioning the Atlanta Police Department’s decision to allow Walker to remain on the streets. Jimmy Hill, B. Green’s cousin, who lost his own son to an Atlanta police officer in 2019, expressed frustration with systemic failures in holding officers accountable. “If you keep continuing to get away with bad behavior and you’re not being held accountable, you get bolder and bolder,” Hill told Capital B Atlanta. “The bad apples really come from rotten trees.”
Walker joined the Atlanta Police Department in April 2023. By January 2026, internal records show he had accumulated 11 work rule violations, with six of seven completed investigations sustained by Internal Affairs. Pending allegations include maltreatment, unnecessary use of force, improper search procedures, and two counts of firearm misuse. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is actively probing both the March and October shootings.
B. Green was well-known in Atlanta’s Hip-Hop scene, particularly for his track “You Ain’t Street” featuring Trouble and Bankroll Fresh, which has over 13 million YouTube views. Tragically, every featured rapper on that song is now deceased, highlighting a continued string of violence affecting the community.
