AJ Styles believes WWE fans should take a more balanced approach when discussing TKO and the decisions being made under the company’s leadership.
Speaking on Phenomenally Retro, Styles addressed the criticism that TKO frequently receives from portions of the wrestling fanbase. While acknowledging that fans are entitled to their opinions, the former WWE Champion argued that not every decision deserves a negative reaction.
According to Styles, part of TKO’s role as the company overseeing WWE is accepting responsibility when things go wrong.
“You’ve got to understand—that’s their job with TKO, they take the blame for everything that’s going on. That’s their responsibility,” Styles explained.
However, he also believes the company deserves recognition when it makes positive moves.
“If they do something right, we need to give them praise. Like with AAA they did something right, so it’s like we can praise them for that,” Styles said.
The veteran star noted that while criticism is a normal part of being a fan, constantly reacting negatively to every decision ignores some of the positive developments taking place within WWE.
“You’re entitled to opinions and stuff like that, but at the same time, you can’t be boo-face about everything that’s going on, because there are some good things happening with TKO.”
Styles also acknowledged that TKO oversees a much larger operation than just WWE and suggested that many business decisions involve factors fans and performers may not fully understand.
“It’s not going to be perfect all the time. But since it’s such a big company, and it’s not just the wrestling part, there are other things going on that are in the media that I don’t really know much about, so I just don’t say anything about it because I don’t know.”
The comments come as WWE continues to operate under TKO Group Holdings, with fan reactions often divided regarding business decisions, talent moves, and the company’s long-term direction.
