🚨 FLORIDA EXECUTES “TUESDAY MURDERS” KILLER WHO TERRORIZED A COMMUNITY AS A TEENAGER
A Florida death row inmate whose violent crime spree began when he was still a teenager has been executed decades after a series of murders that left a community living in fear.
Frank Athen Walls, 58, was put to death by lethal injection at Florida State Prison for the 1987 murder of Ann Louise Peterson in Fort Walton Beach. Prison officials pronounced him dead at 6:11 p.m.
Before the execution, Walls offered a final statement expressing remorse for the pain caused by his actions.
“I am sorry for all the pain and suffering I caused over the years,” he said in his last words.
Walls became one of the most notorious killers in Florida’s Panhandle after authorities linked him to a string of murders committed between 1985 and 1987. Investigators dubbed the crimes the “Tuesday Murders” because several of the attacks occurred on Tuesdays, creating widespread fear throughout the region.
His victims came from very different walks of life.
Among them was 19-year-old junior college student Anne Peterson, who was attacked while sunbathing near the beach. Other victims included a young Air Force couple who were killed while sleeping and a mother of four who had recently become a grandmother.
The randomness of the attacks left residents terrified.
For years, people in the community worried about who might be targeted next as investigators struggled to identify the person responsible. The killings generated intense media coverage and became one of the most disturbing criminal investigations in the area’s history.
Authorities eventually connected Walls to multiple murders through evidence gathered during the investigation. He was convicted in the killing of Ann Louise Peterson and either convicted of or confessed to several additional murders connected to the case.
The crimes shocked even seasoned investigators because of the age of the offender. Walls was still a teenager when some of the murders occurred, a fact that continued to draw attention throughout the lengthy legal process that followed.
After spending decades on death row, Walls exhausted his appeals and faced the sentence handed down by the courts.
For the victims’ families, the execution marked the end of a legal journey that lasted more than three decades. While some relatives viewed the execution as justice finally being carried out, others acknowledged that no court ruling could undo the losses suffered by the families of those killed.
The case remains one of the most infamous murder sprees in Florida history and serves as a reminder of how a series of seemingly random acts of violence can leave a lasting scar on an entire community.
