Florida carried out the execution of Glen Rogers on Thursday at Florida State Prison, closing a long-running capital murder case tied to multiple states and years of criminal investigations. Rogers, 62, was executed by lethal injection for the 1995 murder of Tina Marie Cribbs, a mother of two whom he met at a bar in Tampa. His death marks the conclusion of one of Florida’s more widely discussed death penalty cases due to his alleged connections to multiple unsolved killings and long-standing claims of additional victims.
According to correctional officials, Rogers spent his final hours at the prison in Starke, where he received a visitor earlier in the day and was served a last meal that included pizza, chocolate, and soda. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected his final appeals without comment, clearing the way for the execution to proceed. Rogers was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m. following the administration of a three-drug lethal injection protocol.
During his final statement, Rogers spoke briefly before the procedure began. He referenced President Donald Trump, saying, “Keep making America great. I’m ready to go,” a remark that drew attention from witnesses present in the execution chamber. The conviction in Florida stemmed from the killing of Tina Marie Cribbs, who was found dead in a Tampa motel room in 1995. Investigators said Rogers met her at a bar before the murder. Rogers was also separately sentenced to death in California for the 1995 killing of Sandra Gallagher in Van Nuys. He was arrested in Kentucky after a highway chase while driving Cribbs’ stolen vehicle, according to investigators.
Over the years, Rogers became the subject of broader scrutiny due to claims linking him to multiple additional unsolved killings across the United States. He once told law enforcement he may have killed dozens of people, though he later recanted those statements.
