When it comes to tattooed sportsmen, few have more of a collection than David Beckham.

But one person giving the now retired footballer a run for his money is Fernando Torres, who displayed his growing collection of inkings on holiday in Ibiza with his family on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old Chelsea star was joined by his curvy wife Olalla, and their two children Nora and Leo as they soaked up the sunshine on the Baleriac island.

Torres displayed his muscular physique in a pair of orange-trimmed green swimming shorts as he enjoyed some family time away from the beautiful game.

But the most noticeably thing about Torres’ appearance was undoubtedly the array of interesting etchings he has covering his body.

Torres has always been a fan of tattoos but has added to his collection in recent years.

His most noticeable etchings include the roman numerals VII VII MMI (7, 7, 2001) inked on his right shin, and the number 9, the shirt number he has on the Spanish national team, on his right arm.

He also has his two children’s names written in capital letters down his right arm.

Perhaps the most bizarre of Torres’ tattoo choices is his name written in Tengwar, the language invented by Lord Of The Rings writer J. R. R. Tolkien, on his arm.

Torres’ tattoo exploits have been detailed most recently on reality series Madrid Ink, a Discovery Max show following the customers of Leo Millares’ parlour in the Spanish city.

In last week’s show, Torres’ new art work on his leg was featured.

Meanwhile, as Torres displayed his growing collection of tattoos, his wife Olalla also courted attention in her swimwear choice.

The pretty brunette wore a revealing floral bikini, which highlighted to her butterfly tattoo on her lower stomach.

Clearly enjoying the attention, Olalla soaked up the sunshine as she posed up a storm on the sands.

The family holiday comes as Torres’ future at Chelsea hangs in the balance.

While he is keen to stay on the team, bosses are said to be hopeful he will transfer away from the side due to his disappointing performance since joining in 2011.
