Diddy Catches Another Legal Break As Release Date Gets Shortened

Diddy’s prison release date just moved up to February 2028, marking his third date adjustment since conviction and opening the door for even earlier freedom.

Diddy is catching another break in his legal saga, and this time it’s coming straight from the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

His release date just got moved up again, this time to February 23, 2028, cutting two months off his previous April 25, 2028 date.

The Bad Boy Records founder is serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey after a jury convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution last July.

This marks the third time his release date has shifted since his conviction.

Originally set for May 8, 2028, the date got pushed back to June 4, 2028, in November 2025 after reports surfaced about alleged alcohol consumption in prison.

Then it moved up to April 25, 2028, before this latest adjustment. The Bureau of Prisons cited good conduct time, program credits, and time served as reasons for the change, though they declined to specify which factors applied to his case.

But here’s where it gets interesting.

Even with the February 2028 date locked in, there’s a real possibility he could walk out way before that as his legal team continues fighting on another front entirely.

His legal team is also still pushing hard on his appeal to overturn his conviction entirely, with judges at the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals currently reviewing his case.

Just days before this release date update, Diddy scored a major courtroom victory when a federal judge dismissed most of the claims in Dawn Richard’s lawsuit, the former Danity Kane member’s emotional abuse and breach of contract case.

The judge ruled that the statute of limitations had expired on most allegations, though one claim could potentially be refiled.

Despite facing over 70 civil lawsuits across the country, Diddy’s legal momentum is shifting in his favor on multiple fronts right now.
