Speaking to the Mirror, Kit said: ‘Emilia and I had been best friends over a seven-year period and by the time we had to kiss it seemed really odd.

‘Emilia, Rose and I are good friends, so even though you’re actors and its your job, there’s an element of weirdness when the three of us are having dinner and we had a kissing scene that day.’

Kit also joked it ‘isn’t hard’ to kiss his co-star as he gushed about how she’s ‘wonderful’.

The actor met his now-wife Rose on the set of Game Of Thrones, and life imitated art when the pair, who played lovers in the series, fell in love themselves.

The screen star has admitted he ‘couldn’t stand’ watching Rose kiss his friend Harry Treadaway when he watched her post-GoT project Honeymoon.

Kit said: ‘I went to see a movie Rose did called Honeymoon where she spends half the move snogging with my friend Harry Treadaway. About five minutes in I had to close my eyes because I couldn’t stand it.

‘I was sitting between Rose and Harry and it was awful.’

It comes after the actor confessed he broke down when somebody questioned if he was Jon Snow after filming on the final series wrapped.

when he was approached by a girl who asked whether he was Jon, which promoted an emotional reaction from him.

The star said: ‘I was determined to be cool about the end and decided that when people came up to me and said, “Are you Jon Snow?” that I would say very calmly, “I used to be”.

‘When I left the set for the final time I was very emotional, and when a girl came up to me and asked the inevitable question, I broke down and cried, “I used to be!” She backed off pretty quickly!’

He also admitted during the chat that he has found it incredibly difficult to keep quiet about the ending to the addictive HBO hit.

Kit revealed he had also let slip about the details of the final season, however he joked that the friend he told could care less about the major spoilers.

He said: ‘The intensity of finishing something like this and not being able to tell anybody is so hard. It got too much, so I’ve told one person – my friend James, who doesn’t watch the show and fell asleep in the first episode of the very first season.

‘I knew then that he was zero interested in what I do. We were having a drink the other night and I told him everything about how the series ends, and he couldn’t have looked less interested if he tried!’
