To my surprise, he reached out his hand impatiently and grabbed my fingers with his little paws. As he looked at her, her eyes seemed to ask for help and my heart shattered. I knew I couldn’t take her there, so I picked her up and took her to the nearest animal shelter. The look of gratitude in her eyes when we left the shelter left an indelible mark on my ear, and I vowed to always help those in need, especially the mute and voiceless creatures of this world.
