Dwayne Johnson earned fame through pro wrestling and Hollywood. However, as a young teen, the Gridiron Gang actor dreamed of becoming a football player. As the son of Rocky Johnson, one of the first generation of pro wrestling stars, Johnson was an athletic kid. He even played college football for the Miami Hurricanes from 1991 to 94.

However, at one point in his career, Johnson decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. Yet the 51-year-old’s love for football remained. Besides starring in films like Gridiron Gang and The Game Plan, John was a vocal fan of the sport. However, now the Holywood superstar with an $800 million net worth, has co-founded XFL. Earlier, Johnson had some big news regarding the league and the opportunities its players have found.

Taking to Instagram, Dwayne Johnson posted a video where he met XFL athletes on the field and witnessed them practice. The 51-year-old also spoke to the young athletes and their families, who thanked the Holywood icon for giving their children the opportunity of a lifetime. The Rock explained that XFL is the “League of Opportunity,” for players who booked their tickets to the National Football League.

“I never made it to the NFL,” explained the Black Adam star. However, he said watching many XFL athletes sign with NFL teams was a “very cool” and a“humbling, ‘life comes full circle moment,’” for the actor. The bodybuilding enthusiast spends hours in the gym to carve the perfect body for films like Black Adam. Hence, he claimed he was aware of the sacrifice it takes to make it to the highest level.

While Johnson, like eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman, didn’t make it to the NFL, his dream to make a mark in football still remained. Now, with XFL, the star is helping young talent find their place in the National Football League.
