Travis Scott and tennis legend John McEnroe get into a HEATED argument over Nike sneakers collaboration: ‘Show some respect!’

Travis Scott and tennis legend John McEnroe appeared to have gotten into a rather heated argument while discussing their Nike sneakers collaboration.

The Sicko Mode rapper, 32 – who reportedly ‘owes over $100,000 in back taxes’ in the state of California – seemingly had a disagreement over the name of the shoe with the sports star, 64.

The incident occurred over an alleged Zoom call shared by Nice Kicks on X, formerly known as Twitter – although it is unknown when the meeting had actually taken place.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Scott and McEnroe’s representatives, but have yet to hear back.

The beginning of the clip – which was filmed by another individual included in the remote meeting – began with John yelling out, ‘G******t, Travis!’ while calling for a ‘bit of a compromise.’

It appeared that McEnroe preferred for the line to be called Cactus Mac rather than Scott’s proposal of Cactus Jack.

The performer then could be heard explaining his side on the matter, and stated, ‘Cactus Mac was never a thing…’

However, the tennis player wasn’t too thrilled, and interrupted with, ‘Come on, man! Show some respect! This is my shoe!’

While keeping his tone in a calm demeanor, Travis explained, ‘I’m not really like feelin’ it. It’s like something about it feels off…like selling burgers or something.’

He continued, ‘We ain’t trying to take none of that away from you. Ain’t trying to disrespect. I ain’t tying to do anything like that. Trust me. I know more about the value of the shoe than anybody else.’

‘But, right now, the young ranges really the ones kind of pushing me for what is going on right now. I mean, you got to trust me on this,’ Scott added.

The reel came to an end when John suddenly left the Zoom meeting while yelling out ‘Forget it!’

Others on the call, including the rapper, could be heard calling out for McEnroe to return, but he had already left the meeting.

Social media users jumped to the comment section to shed their thoughts and opinions on the exchange.

One wrote, ‘This gotta be fake because who he raising his voice to like that?’ while another added, ‘John ready to pop a blood vessel.’

A fan typed, ‘Cactus Mac would’ve been a [fire emoji] name for this collab. Best of both eras,’ and another penned, ‘”Sounds like a burger” like he didn’t do a collab with McDonald’s.’

Another typed out, ‘This is promo. Anyone that knows John McEnroe knows this,’ with a follower adding, ‘Nike and their marketing! McEnroe still screaming like Travis is playing tennis.’

The exact date when the alleged meeting had occurred is unknown, but earlier this year in March, it was announced that Travis and John would be partnering up with Nike to reintroduce the tennis player’s 1984 signature sneaker.

And in June, the popular shoe company released an ad campaign featuring the two for the Mac Attack.

The sports star had worn the Mac Attack sneaker while playing on the court in the 1980s after the sneaker was launched in 1984 in a gray and black color scheme.

Scott notably launched his own contemporary fashion brand called, Cactus Jack – which could explain his proposition to also call the Nike Mac Attack line as Cactus Jack.

The reimagined shoes are set to have the same color gray and black color scheme as the original Mac Attack, while the Nike check mark symbol is designed backwards – which was first introduced by Scott in 2019, per British GQ.

Another addition from the original sneaker is including the iconic checkered details on the tongue of the shoe.

The Nike Attack sneaker is currently available in classic black and white to consumers on the website – which can be purchased for $120. Two other styles are also available with a price range of $130-$140.
