Reports have claimed that Chelsea are prepared to go all out to make one signing for their attack in January.
According to TeamTalk, the Blues are going to make a big effort to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres due to them being more likely to complete that deal.
Gyokeres has emerged in recent days as one of a number of names on the shortlist of Chelsea’s transfer targets.
It has been no secret that the Blues are in for a striker when the window opens again, with the seemingly not happy with the current options.
Both Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja have not done enough to nail down a starting place at Sanford Bridge so far this season.
Perhaps Chelsea’s best performance of the season at home to Arsenal was a game where neither of the two started.
Chelsea to go all out for Gyokeres
The main two targets if reports are to be believed Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney, both of whom look as if they want to leave their current clubs.
However, it has been noted how difficult and expensive both of those transfers could prove to be.
Yesterday saw reports of the Napoli man close to signing a new deal that will involve a healthy release clause.
For that reason, the Blues may look elsewhere, and feel more confident striking a deal for Gyokeres.
It has been claimed that Mauricio Pochettino believes this is the more doable deal, which could inspire Chelsea to make a proper move in that direction.
It has been claimed that he has a release clause of £87m, with this, quite a bit less than the reported one for Osimhen.
Chelsea should make sure that if they do sign a number nine, that he is of elite quality in order to not fall into the trap they have this season.
