Jon Jones offers incredible gift to Leon Edwards after UFC title defence vs Colby Covington

UFC legend Jon Jones has sent a heartfelt message to Leon Edwards, offering him a motorbike after his win over Colby Covington.

Edwards successfully defended his UFC Welterweight title for the second time on Saturday night in Las Vegas in a dominating display over Covington.

‘Rocky’ claimed a unanimous victory over the American challenger, days after Covington’s callous comments about Edwards’ deceased father.

And it has earned the Jamaican-born Brit some new fans, including UFC legend Jones.

The current heavyweight champion took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to show his appreciation.

He posted: “Leon Edwards, I couldn’t be more happy for you.

“As an American champion in this game, I salute you, that was truly a job well done.

“Let me know if I can gift you a motorcycle or something for Christmas. Feel like I owe you one.”

Replying to a fan, ‘Bones’ added: “Man, whatever he wants, it would be my pleasure.”

Jones has his own beef with Covington, despite the fact they used to be roommates during their collegiate years.

‘Chaos’ took aim at the 36-year-old in the past over the usage of PEDs (Performance Enhancing Drugs) and even claimed that Jones got him forced off the UFC 295 card.

However, Jones was forced to withdraw from the card anyway through injury, meaning his fight against Stipe Miocic was cancelled.

Meanwhile, Covington received plenty of stick for his performance on Saturday night – largely from other MMA fighters.

That included Michael Chandler, who said: “If Colby’s offense tonight was an accurate depiction of the U.S. strength, we would have never gotten our independence from Britain, lost WWI and got demoralized in WWII by a landslide. Colby, you suck.”

Henry Cejudo also reacted by writing on X: “YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A F****** SHTICK!!”

Even Dillon Danis jumped on to fire shots, referring to his awful performance against Logan Paul, he wrote: “I threw more punches than Colby Covington did.”

What lies in store for Edwards next remains to be seen after defending his title for the second time.

“This fight was very emotional for me,” Edwards told Joe Rogan after beating Covington.

“This guy used my dad’s murder as entertainment. It took a lot for me to calm down, stay focused to win this fight.”
