Phil Foden claimed that Manchester City are not given the credit they deserve after breaking more records this weekend.
City became the first English club to lift the big five major trophies in a calendar year after beating the Brazilians Fluminense 4-0 in the Club World Cup final in Saudi Arabia on Friday night.
Foden turned in one of his finest displays in a City shirt, scoring one and making another, as the trophy was added to this year’s domestic Treble and the UEFA Super Cup.
Midfielder Foden wants his team-mates to win more plaudits and believes they can take the performances of the past few days into their latest title defence.
‘I don’t think there’s enough credit,’ he said. ‘It’s unbelievably hard and so demanding — every three days playing games. Out of all that effort, to say that we’ve done this is so good.

‘We want to keep building on this. Now that we’ve won it, we know what it takes and we’ll have the experience for next time when we get to the later stages. Hopefully, we just keep going as a club and getting better. We’ve won all five but now the job’s not done. We want to do it again.’
Foden added: ‘We’re always that hungry to keep winning.
‘So that’s the game and when you play for Manchester City you don’t stop. You always have to win. I wanted to win this one because not only was it a big competition for the club — it was to win all five as well.
