On January 2, Jennie (Blackpink) appeared as a guest on KSB 2TV’s music talk show “The Seasons: Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet”, hosted by female singer Lee Hyori.

The program received a lot of attention because this was the first domestic broadcast stage after Jennie established her own company ODD ATELIER (OA) at the end of December last year.

Talking about her decision to establish her own management company without re-signing with YG Entertainment, Jennie said: “I will continue to work as a group with the company I have been with for 7 years (YG), but I want to be independent. Due to and more comfortable in my personal activities, I carefully considered establishing a company called ODD ATELIER (OA)”.

The female singer revealed that in OA there are a number of employees who have worked with her for a long time. Jennie also talked about the reason for naming the company ODD ATELIER with the goal “to do well, even though the path I take is strange and different from others.”

Jennie continued to share: “I learned a lot of things at my old company, because this is the company I have been with since my trainee years. But these past few days I’ve been wondering: “Can I do everything myself?” So I was determined to muster all the courage to face it and try.”

In response to Lee Hyori’s question about activities with YG (for Blackpink’s joint activities) and OA (for individual activities), Jennie said: “Currently we are doing very well (in Blackpink with YG), and The newly established company is in the phase of testing new things, so I will try my best.”

When asked by Lee Hyori about the company’s development and expansion plans, Jennie said that currently OA is still a one-member company to focus on Jennie’s personal activities alone.

“Actually, I never dreamed about such things. It’s been a pleasure starting this company. But I will try to take good care of the artist named Jennie first, and perhaps in the future there will be good events,” Jennie said.

Also on the show, Jennie shared about her plans for solo activities in 2024: “My goal is to release a full album to the world this year.”
