Bruno Fernandes’ penalty shot in the second half and Diogo Dalot’s magnificent looping strike sealed the victory for United.
Wigan only had a 33% ball possession rate compared to the Red Devils’ 67%.
Out of their 33 attempts at goal, United was able to obtain 14 shots on goal. Conversely, Wigan managed nine shots, but only two of those caused concern for Andre Onana.
Ten Hag’s men completed 603 passes with a 90% completion percentage.

Dalot is a player who deserves a great deal of credit, even though Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo will naturally receive the majority of the recognition for their outstanding efforts in the middle of the park and on the wing, respectively.

Dalot scored his second goal of the season against Shaun Maloney’s team, following his outstanding goalscorer at Bramall Lane when United defeated Sheffield United.
