Unforgettable Father-Son Golfing Feat: Tiger Woods and Charlie Score 11 Consecutive Birdies in Matching ‘Sunday Red’

Tiger Woods returned to tournament golf alongside son Charlie this weekend as they finished second at the PNC Championship following a stunning final round on Sunday

Tiger Woods and his 12-year-old son Charlie hit 11 birdies in a row on the final day of the PNC Championship as they wore matching ‘Sunday red’.

Woods was making his return to tournament golf in his first appearance since being involved in a horror car crash back in February.

He used a cart to make his way around the course in Florida this weekend having suffered a double leg break as a result of the accident 10 months ago.

However, this did not stop the duo from producing a stunning final round on Sunday to finish second overall at the tournament.

The tournament featured a host of former major champions playing alongside their children or parents.

Team Woods wore matching ‘Sunday red’ outfits as they made their way around the course on the final day, keeping in line with Woods’ tradition of wearing red for Sunday’s play.

He and Charlie were in fine form at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando as they shot a tournament-record 11 consecutive birdies during their final round.

This allowed the pair to post an incredible -15 round of 52 on Sunday to finish second at the tournament.

Ultimately, they missed out on the title to two-time major winner John Daly and his son John II.

Following their final round, Woods said: “We got on a run which was great, I mean Charlie was hitting the ball unbelievable, it was great!

“The fact that I had my son there, he’s an unbelievable player, and an unbelievable partner.”

This was the first time the 15-time major winner had played competitively since he shattered his tibia and fibula in a car crash in February.

He discussed his return to the course as he added: “I’m just happy and thankful that I’ve been able to do this. I still have my old leg, which was questionable for a while, and it’s functioning.

“I’m just really tired! I’m not used to this. I think this might be my fifth round of golf this year, fourth or fifth round of golf this year.

“And I’m a little worn out, and it was nice to have a cart!”
