Klopp’s Praise: Darwin Nunez Hailed as an ‘Excellent Boy’ for Transforming Liverpool’s Game Despite Cramps in Emotional Win Against Fulham

The Reds were trailing when Nunez came on in the 56th minute, but the Uruguayan helped the hosts win 2-1.

Nunez assisted both of Liverpool’s second-half goals, which came within three minutes of each other.

Nunez got the most touches in the opponent box (12), completed the most dribbles (3), and took the joint-highest number of shots (4), according to OptaJoe.

Darwin Núñez fuels Liverpool’s comeback triumph over Fulham.

After the victory over Fulham, Jurgen Klopp praised Darwin Nunez. The German strategist explained:

“I must tell that he plays amazing. “I love so many aspects of his game,” Klopp stated.

“The first year was an adjustment period, and he scored here and there, but now he contributes in all games.

Gakpo and Nunez make an impact from the bench as Liverpool beat Fulham

“The boys do not start based on whether they score or not. My belief and trust in them is limitless, as long as they behave appropriately. They deserve it because of the effort they have put in.

“I’m not sure how to explain the Darwin scenario. I’m very delighted with Darwin’s attitude and how he handles it, but you can’t be more unlucky in these final scenarios.

“He does everything perfectly, but the ball is not in. And then he sets up the other goal. I think it is quite special to do that again.”

Nunez has reversed his status this season, becoming a fan favorite after losing his place in the team during the second half of last season.

The 24-year-old did not start the opening leg of Liverpool’s Carabao Cup semi-final, which was disappointing, but Klopp explained why.

“He would have started tonight, but he experienced cramping in the previous game, so three days later he does not start.

Klopp is frustrated with Darwin Nuñez’s missed goals.

Liverpool’s substitutes have 15 goals and 15 assists in all competitions this season, 12 more than any other Premier League team, with Nunez scoring three and assisting four.

His involvement was critical since Klopp had no other options, as the six other outfield substitutes were all academy graduates, the oldest of whom was 21-year-old left-back Owen Beck, who was returned from a loan spell with Dundee.

Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Alcantara, Dominik Szoboszlai, Joel Matip, Andy Robertson, Wataru Endo, Kostas Tsimikas, and Stefan Bajcetic are all now unavailable due to injury or international duty.
