After a late scare, the Reds managed to earn a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage, securing a final encounter with Chelsea.
Despite Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Fulham, Liverpool advanced to the Carabao Cup final after winning the semi-final match 3-2 overall.
Luis Diaz powered his side into the lead in just 11 minutes. Following a long pass from Jarell Quansah, he won an aerial fight and raced towards the Fulham goal. Just as the Fulham players were diving in to block his shot, he fired it and managed to get it past Bernd Leno.
Even though Liverpool led the entire time, Fulham persisted and kept pounding on the door. Harry Wilson’s outstanding play rewarded off when, after 77 minutes, he got past Conor Bradley and discovered that Issa Diop had redirected it in.
The Reds were able to win the game thanks to the goal, which provided the home team a big lift. Caoimhin Kelleher was alert to stop a potentially damaging shot from Wilson.
