What previously was just an aspiration by The Boys’ showrunner Eric Kripke now has become reality. As confirmed by Variety, Walking Dead and Supernatural star Jeffrey Dean Morgan has officially joined the cast of Amazon Prime’s superhero satire series, The Boys.
With Morgan now joining the gang, he is set to reunite with his former workmates in CW’s Supernatural such as Eric Kripke, Jim Beaver, and Jensen Ackles, who played one of the biggest roles in season 3 as Soldier Boy. The 56-year-old actor who currently portrays Negan, a villain in the zombie series Walking Dead, will join The Boys in the fourth season but his role hasn’t been shared with the public yet.
The Winchester reunion we didn’t know we needed (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jensen Ackles, and Jared Padalecki)
Supernatural had a very successful run with Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) and Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) leading the show. Their estranged father (John Winchester) who was played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, became the reason why the Winchester brothers pursued the monster hunting business.

The show was a great hit that ran for 15 seasons. Eric Kripke, who created the popular TV series also happens to take responsibility for the success of Amazon’s The Boys. Kripke, who previously shared his desire to add former Supernatural actors into The Boys is slowly fulfilling his wishes. First, Kripke cast Jim Beaver as Senator Robert Singer in Season 2.
As hilarious as it gets, Beaver also played a character with a similar name in Supernatural, Robert “Bob” Singer, which was a homage to the show’s producer. Then, Jensen Ackles hopped in on the debauchery, portraying what could have been the biggest addition in season 3 (Soldier Boy). Now, we are about to get Morgan in the fourth season in a role nobody knows about yet.
It would be safe to say we are getting a Winchester reunion under our noses and Kripke is very straightforward about his desire to do so. The only actor lacking in this masterpiece is Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester). Kripke had also said he is willing to cast Padalecki and would let him join “in a heartbeat”.
Which character in The Boys could Jeffrey Dean Morgan be playing?
There are still a lot of characters we haven’t seen in the show. Derived from the comic book franchise of the same name, the TV show has proved to slightly divert its storyline from the comics. However, most characters are still based on source material like The Seven, The Boys, Payback, and many others. With Morgan being cast in a mysterious role, let’s take a look at characters or supes Morgan could play in season 4.
Tek Knight
Technically, this guy is not a supe – or at least he was not a child injected with Compound V. Tek Knight, also known as Robert Vernon, is an homage to Marvel’s Iron Man, but without the morals and heroism. He’s got a very cool suit which he can use to fly. Also, this man is super RICH. This also leaves us the question, aside from Stan Edgar, is he one of the persons running Vought?
That could be possible since he has a lot of money. In the comics, he’s got a mental condition where he gets aroused by everything he can put his genitals into, whatever it may be. With The Boys being as it is now, we could get to see the Tek Knight canon storyline. We are taking Tek Knight as the first character that comes to mind that would fit perfectly for Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Frederick Vought
The founder of Vought International, Frederick Vought, has been mentioned a few times in the show in the past. We may have seen him in pictures but never in the flesh. Frederick Vought coming back from the dead wouldn’t be new since we saw his wife, Stormfront, became immortal after getting injected with Compound V. It won’t come as a surprise if the man behind all of these is just hiding behind the shadows. He may not look like Morgan but the show could always work its way around.
Oh Father
The Leader of a young group of supes called “Sidekicks 12” has an almighty leader called Oh Father. This man, who has a religious persona, is considered to be one of the most powerful supes in this universe. Though he has a rather “Holy Image”, Oh Father is not all that. In the comic book series, Oh Father was revealed to sexually abuse all of the members of Sidekicks 12.
