Ryan Reynolds said that he owes it to his wife Blake Lively to have introduced him to a vital member of the Deadpool and Wolverine team.
“My wife fell in love with her editor, @sreid2, while directing a music video.” Reynolds, 41, posted on Instagram Story on Saturday, March 16, saying, “She insisted I work with him immediately and forever.”Reynolds, who wed Lively in 2012 and has four kids with her, hasn’t stopped praising his wife’s suggestion on social media and has acknowledged that he’s happy he followed her counsel.
“She was correct,” the performer clarified. He became as the indispensable second half of our Deadpool editing room. I’ve known this brilliance for ten months, and I won’t let go. At all times.”
Alongside a poignant message from the actor, a photo from the set of the movie showed Reynolds wrapped his arm around video editor Shane Reid while wearing his Deadpool costume sans mask.
Reid retorted to the picture on Saturday, posting it to his own Instagram Story and saying, “Don’t simply meet your idols… collaborate with them. Ryan and @blakelively are the most fierce and giving creative collaborators. It truly is a blessing for me to work with both of you every day.

In 2021, Reid and Lively, 36, first worked together on a music video for Taylor Swift.
Lively teamed up with Swift, 34, to direct her music video, “I Bet You Think About Me,” a From the Vault track released on Red (Taylor’s Version), which dropped in November 2022. The video featured the singer, who is Lively’s longtime bestie, crashing the wedding of her ex, played by Miles Teller.
“Finally got to work with the brilliant, brave, & wickedly funny @blakelively on her directorial debut,” Swift captioned an Instagram post with a teaser of the video at the time to celebrate Lively’s accomplishment.
Once the project wrapped, Reid joined the film crew of Lively’s husband’s superhero flick.
Fans got a taste of what to expect from the third installment of Deadpool when a trailer dropped during the Super Bowl on February 11.
