Henry Cavill dons a cape and an all-black ensemble to transform into Geralt Of Rivia

Henry Cavill was seen filming new scenes for The Witcher’s second season in Surrey on Monday.

The actor, 37, transformed into Geralt Of Rivia as he headed out into a grassy field alongside his fellow cast members and the mask-clad crew for the day’s production.

Dressed in a grey cape and his character’s all-black ensemble, Henry was seen beaming as he prepared to shoot scenes alongside Royce Pierreson, who plays sorcerer Istredd in the Netflix hit.

And, action! Henry Cavill donned a cape and an all-black ensemble to transform into Geralt Of Rivia as he got to work on set of The Witcher’s second season in Surrey on Monday

As well as his padded jacket and black trousers, Henry also donned Geralt’s pendant necklace which features a wolf insignia to represent his character’s pseudonym as the White Wolf.

Henry pulled his hood up to cover his long white wig for the scene, while he wore amber contact lenses to fully embody his character.

Walking out into the field, Henry and Royce were seen heading to location while extras on horseback held Nilfgaard flags, suggesting Geralt is in enemy territory as war continues to rage over The Continent.

While Istredd and Geralt share a past as both were Yennefer of Venderberg’s lover at different times in season one, they didn’t meet during the drama so it’s unclear how their encounter will play out in season two.

The crew made sure to adhere to strict coronavirus rules during their time out on set, as everyone made sure to wear masks for the duration of the day’s filming.

At the end of season one, Geralt finally united with Ciri after he became her warden by the Law Of Surprise after saving her father’s life before she was born.

In August fans were left delighted after The Witcher resumed production for its second series.

Filming on the Netflix fantasy drama had to be put on hold earlier in the year due to the global pandemic.
