The popular superhero series on Amazon Prime Video already has the ideal character for Jared Padalecki, who recently indicated interest in joining The Boys.
Season 4 of The Boys already has the ideal character for Jared Padalecki, who is said to be joining the group. One of Prime Video’s cornerstone series, Amazon’s popular superhero program has grown steadily over the years, and it may soon welcome a new cast member. Jared Padalecki disclosed that creator Eric Kripke had contacted him regarding a possible role on The Boys, suggesting that he might appear in the series. Padalecki appeared to exhibit curiosity, noting that The Boys’ frequent nudity made him desire more time to get ripped before joining the show.
Even if Padalecki’s reaction came across as sardonic, it did show that, given the right situation, he would be willing to return to the series. His relationships to the actors already make him an ideal fit, and he would surely be an interesting addition to the program. There would be speculation about the actor’s role if he were to join the ensemble officially. Jared Padalecki could play a number of The Boys characters with ease, but one in particular jumps out due to the actor’s Supernatural ties: a certain superhero would be a wonderful fit.
It would be hilarious to see Jared Padalecki in The Boys’ Soldier Boy II.
Ironically, it would be ideal if Jared Padalecki took over Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy role.
Jared Padalecki as Soldier Boy II would be a delightfully suitable role if he joined The Boys. Supernatural reunions have occurred in The Boys and Gen V, and Padalecki’s casting would provide another one. Season 4 of The Boys may bring Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles back together. Padalecki played Sam Winchester on Supernatural, while Ackles played his brother Dean. Given that Ackles portrays the original Soldier Boy, it would be even more appropriate for Padalecki to play Soldier Boy II. In this sense, Padalecki’s contemporary Soldier Boy would take Ackles’ place.
This would be a plausible scenario considering that there are two versions of Soldier Boy in The Boys comics. In the comics, Ackles’s original Vought character perished during World War II, and Padalecki would portray his heir. Season 4 may be the ideal chance for Vought to bring in a new Soldier Boy, considering the TV show hasn’t depicted him doing so. Padalecki would be a great fit for the role. It would be funny to see him attempt to pull off an identical performance to Ackles’ once they were siblings on Supernatural, and he would undoubtedly be excellent in the part.
Playing Soldier Boy Would Let Padalecki & Jensen Ackles Interact
Jensen Ackles Could Still Return To Interact With Jared Padalecki’s Soldier Boy II
Since Amazon’s The Boys doesn’t directly follow the comics, Padalecki playing Soldier Boy II would still allow him to interact with Jensen Ackles. Although Soldier was defeated in season 3, he wasn’t killed off, meaning Ackles’ version of the character could still return. If Vought chose to replace him with Padalecki’s version, this would offer the chance for them to come face-to-face and create a hilarious scene. Given Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy made a cameo in Gen V, his return in The Boys is certainly still on the cards and gives the duo a high chance of sharing the screen.
If Ackles’ Soldier Boy does return, he’ll most likely be out for revenge, and his first target could be his supposed replacement. Assuming Padalecki does take the mantle of Vought’s new Soldier Boy, he may share some of the same cowardly characteristics as the comic version, making the duo’s interaction even more comedic as Padalecki’s character would have an entirely different personality. Regardless of how he portrays Soldier Boy, Padalecki’s TV reunion with Ackles will undoubtedly have a different feel than their Supernatural relationship if he joins The Boys, making his potential casting all the more exciting.
Soldier Boy vs. Soldier Boy Would Pay Off Supernatural’s Winchester Brother Fight Tease
The Boys Could Finally Provide The Fight That Supernatural Hinted At
After Supernatural teased a potential fight between the Winchester brothers, The Boys can finally deliver an alternative. Rather than Sam and Dean Winchester fighting, the original Soldier Boy could face off against the modern version in what would be an interesting clash. If Padalecki does play the more cowardly version of Soldier Boy, it may be a pretty one-sided battle, but if his version of the character is his true successor, it would make for a bloody scrap. Vought has the facilities to improve upon the original supe, and having two eras of Soldier Boys face-off would be entertaining.
Regardless of who wins, having Ackles and Padalecki finally have a big on-screen fight would be years in the making, and be a fun bit of nostalgia for Supernatural fans. Given the duo played two of Supernatural‘s leading characters, this fight would be a nice change of pace as they would be portraying two villains with opposing views. It may not be the showdown anyone would have expected the actors to have, but if Padalecki does decide to join The Boys, there is no doubt playing Soldier Boy could lead to a much-needed fight with his former Supernatural co-star.
