Taking to Twitter, Stephan alluded to just how outlandish things could get.

He wrote: ‘I think I just saw the most disgusting thing I have seen working in this business thus far. #TheBoystv’

In response, the official The Boys Twitter account quickly swooped in, sarcastically joking that Season 4 would be rated PG unlike the show’s past seasons, which all have TV-MA age ratings.

The show follows a team of vigilantes who seek to curb superpowered individuals from abusing their powers.

Although the project was initially conceived as a movie, it was later adapted for television.

The Boys’ first season premiered in 2019 and was met with praise for its humour and social commentary.

The program’s second run of episodes debuted in September of 2020 and received a similarly positive response from fans and critics alike.

The release of the show’s third season occurred this past June, and Jensen Ackles was added to the cast of the series.

The program’s most recent run of episodes has since been received favorably by critics.

An animated spinoff series entitled The Boys Presents: Diabolical premiered this past March.

Testing the limits: The Gossip Girl star previously spoke about working on the show, where he recalled that he took several risks while auditioning for his part (pictured last year)

Another spinoff show, Gen V, will be focused on a group of young superheroes being tested in exceedingly dangerous situations.

The cast of the program will include performers such as Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway and Patrick Schwarzenegger, who will appear in a recurring role.

The spinoff show is currently set to premiere on the Amazon Prime Video sometime next year.

The Boys was renewed for a fourth season this past June, much to the enjoyment of the program’s fans.

Chase previously spoke about working on the program during an interview with Collider, where he recalled that he took several risks while auditioning for his part.

He stated: ‘When I went into the room, I wanted to take a risk. I wanted to just own it and do my own thing. I improved a bit and I had them laughing in the room, and that was it.’

The performer also stated that, during the early days of the show’s production, the show’s creative team allowed its cast to figure out their own characters.

‘No one really knew what the tone of the show was. We were figuring it out, and they really just let us do what we wanted and let us push it, as well,’ he said.

The Gossip Girl star then recalled an instance in which he was told to perform a particularly surprising action.

‘At the end, there was something I had to do, where it went to a dark place and I was like, “Okay, I’m just gonna do it.” I just really went for it and had one take to do it, and it was wild. I’d never done that,’ he said.

Success: The Boys’ first season premiered in 2019 and was met with praise(L-R Tomer Kapon, Antony Starr, Claudia Doumit, Chace , Karen Fukuhara, Eric Kripke and Jensen Ackles)
