Weekend Update co-anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che continued their annual tradition of ‘making each other read jokes live on the air that the other person has never seen before’ during the 49th season finale of Saturday Night Live.
‘The idea is, of course, to give each other fun jokes, almost supportive jokes that would never ruin our summer or our career,’ Colin said ominously.
The 41-year-old Staten Island native was then surprised to see his famous wife Scarlett Johansson appear onscreen, giggling before reluctantly delivering the joke off the teleprompter.
‘ChatGPT has released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson‘s AI character in Her,’ Colin began.
‘Which I’ve never bothered to watch because without that body, what’s the point of listening?’

At that, Jost lowered his head and covered his face in embarrassment.
The 39-year-old former child star voiced Samantha, a virtual assistant to a lonely man (Joaquin Phoenix), in Spike Jonze’s 2013 sci-fi romantic drama Her, which received rave reviews and earned $48.3M at the global box office.
Michael also got the Peabody Award winner to utter the phrase ‘Free Harvey Weinstein’ and tell two jokes about Jewish space lasers in front of an actual rabbi called Jill.
Meanwhile, Colin had Che perform two pedophilia jokes, made him take credit for the random punching incidents happening in New York City, and had him start beef with feud-loving Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar.
‘That was pretty well done, man,’ the 41-year-old Lower East Side native commended Jost.
‘I don’t like that one bit.’
The 14-time Emmy nominee is the third husband of Scarlett, who was previously married to IF actor Ryan Reynolds and French journalist Romain Dauriac.
The married couple of three years began dating in May 2017 after she hosted the NBC sketch show for the fifth time.

94-year-old June Squibb – best known for her Oscar-nominated role in Alexander Payne’s 2013 film Nebraska – plays the titular part of 90-year-old Eleanor Morgenstein, who moves back to New York City from Florida following the death of her best friend of 70 years.
First-time screenwriter Tory Kamen based the character on her late grandmother Elinore who passed away, age 99, in 2020.
