Rihanna is reportedly opening up about the frightening night gunfire erupted outside her Los Angeles home while she, A$AP Rocky, their children, and family members were inside the property.
According to newly surfaced court documents, the incident happened earlier this year at the couple’s Beverly Crest mansion. Prosecutors allege that nearly 10 bullets were fired at the residence during the attack.
At the time of the shooting, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were reportedly sleeping inside an Airstream trailer parked outside the main house. Court filings claim the singer woke up in panic after hearing gunshots and yelled, “They’re shooting at us!” before pushing Rocky to the floor for safety.
Inside the mansion, the couple’s three children and Rihanna’s mother were also present during the terrifying incident.
Investigators later discovered bullet holes in the windshield of the trailer where Rihanna and Rocky had been sleeping. Authorities say the suspected shooter fled the scene immediately after the gunfire erupted, but police were able to locate and arrest the suspect nearby shortly afterward.
The accused, identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, has since been charged with attempted murder along with multiple felony gun charges. During an earlier court appearance, Ortiz reportedly denied attempting to kill anyone, insisting she “wasn’t attempting murder.”
According to the court documents, Rihanna told investigators she did not know Ortiz personally and had no prior connection to her.
The shocking incident comes as Rihanna and A$AP Rocky continue balancing family life and their high-profile careers while raising their children largely out of the public spotlight.
As the criminal case moves forward, prosecutors are expected to rely heavily on surveillance footage, ballistic evidence, and witness testimony tied to the shooting investigation.
