明石家さんま（69）と木村拓哉（52）のフジテレビ系正月特番「さんタク」が1日放送され、さんまがニューヨークに行けなくなった理由を明かした。
さんまにとって夏休み恒例の行事というが「実は…ニューヨークに今、行けなくなってんねん」と吐露。理由を「たばこ、吸えないの、もう、どこも」と明かした。「みんなが一生懸命探してくれて。『ニュージャージーの方のモーテルなら吸えます』と。ニュージャージーの古びた、殺人鬼が現れるようなモーテルなら」と、マンハッタンから遠く離れた安宿を紹介されたことを開かし「ファースト（クラス）の高いの乗って、古びたモーテルに泊まんのもないやんか」と打ち明けた。
すると木村が「でも、たぶん、行ったら行ったで、案外好きでしょ？ ガチャって入って、自分の荷物置いて、たばこを取り出して付けて。テレビとかバチッてやった瞬間に『これや、これや』って、絶対なると思う！ 『せや、せや、せや！』ってなると思う」と、さんまのしゃべり方をマネながら話した。
そして二人は「ならへん！ ならへん」「絶対なるって！」「せや、せや。ならへん。ならない」「絶対なると思う」と押し問答した。
