General Hospital’s Sofia Mattsson Looks Back in Awe at Five Years as Sasha

Boy, time flies when you’re having fun and that’s exactly what’s happened for General Hospital’s Sofia Mattsson. The actress is currently celebrating five years playing Sasha on the ABC soap and shared a cute pic outside of the studios to commemorate the occasion.

“Celebrating five years at this amazing place this week!” Mattsson cheered. “I’m beyond grateful to have a workplace that feels more like family and a second home!”

Some of her Port Charles castmates came out to send congrats, including Katelyn MacMullen (Willow), who expressed, “Love her!” as Kate Mansi, who recently stepped in as Kristina, shared, “Congratulations beauty!” The Young and the Restless’ Courtney Hope (Sally) sent Mattsson some applauds while Risa Dorken (Amy) stated, “Congratulations! You have tackled such challenging material!”

And that she has… Sasha has gone through everything from battling a drug addiction, to losing her son, Liam, to facing the devastating death of her husband Brando, and now she and Cody are on the run, having escaped the mental institution after Dr. Montague drugged her — with her mother-in-law, Gladys, responsible for the entire thing!

Trying to hide the fact that she had been robbing Sasha blind, and needing access to more money, Gladys had Montague drug her daughter-in-law, who then stabbed Cody, which in turn landed her in Ferncliff.

If and when Sasha comes back from this latest trial in her life, we hope she can once again find some happiness. However, this is a soap and it likely won’t be the last time she’ll have to deal with a major upset.

Soaps.com sends Mattsson our very best and we hope to see the character in Port Charles for many more years to come!

Russian forces are advancing westward in Ukraine at a rate faster than any other time after the initial days of the 2022 invasion, taking an area half the size of London over the past month as the return of Donald Trump to the White House looms large. Vladimir Putin’s troops swept through swathes of Ukraine in early 2022 and were bearing down on Kyiv in a matter of days, but they were held on the outskirts of the capital before being pushed back and retreating further east. Since then, the 1,000 km (620-mile) front line remained largely static save for some minor offensives one way or the other – that is until Ukraine launched a lightning incursion into Russia’s Kursk region this summer.
