The Daily Star reported on October 24 that a 5.4 meter long crocodile was found mysteriously dead at the Flag Boshielo dam, near the town of Marble Hall, Limpopo province, South Africa.
Rikus Muller, one of the two fishermen who found the giant crocodile’s body, shared with Newsflash news agency: “We were fishing on the evening of October 10 when we noticed something floating on the water. When we got close, we I was angry because it was the hind leg of a crocodile.”
The two fishermen moved the boat closer to observe closely. “I thought it might be dead so I used the racket to try and poke it,” Muller shared.
The two wanted to find out what caused the death of this giant “monster”, but because it was dark they decided to turn back and come back the next morning.
To show everyone the enormous size of the crocodile, Mr. Muller took a photo comparing its foot with his hand. It’s not hard to see how small human hands are.

Muller shared the photo with close friend Martin Theunissen, who was also surprised by the giant size of the crocodile. They decided to return to the place where the “monster” crocodile’s body was found.
“We found it and pulled it to shore to take a few photos. Then we dragged the crocodile’s body toward the dam for further examination,” Muller said.
After careful examination, the cause of death of the “monster” crocodile was due to swallowing too many fishermen’s fishing nets.
