Kendall Jenner Still Doesn’t Understand Why All These Ballerinas Are So Upset By Her ‘Vogue’ Spain Shoot

Back in September, not only did Kendall Jenner reach a major milestone in her modeling career, landing the coveted Vogue cover, she also landed another cover for Vogue Spain and unleashed the ire of thousands of ballerinas in the process. After the model posted a video on her Instagram account in anticipation of the magazine’s release that shows her doing the twist in a tutu and frolicking around a studio, the dance community took to social media to unleash their wrath over Kendall’s clear lack of professional training. And on Thursday, Kendall finally responded to all of the drama.

When the Vogue Spain images were released, ballerinas everywhere were livid at the model for making light of a craft they’ve poured years of their life into. Even Abby Lee Miller of Dance Moms fame spoke out, saying she could not support this shoot as, “There are so many amazing dancers in the world … Kendall Jenner is not one of them!”

But today, the cover girl clapped back, writing on her blog, “It’s so funny that people are getting pregnant and married—or having crazy drama—but my drama is ballerinas being upset at me! With my Vogue Spain shoot, I didn’t even know I was going to be a ballerina until I went into hair and makeup. I never said I knew ballet and I didn’t practice beforehand. I just show up to do my job!” Although, to the credit of all the frustrated ladies en pointe out there, that total lack of preparation is pretty much exactly their point.

But the newly-minted super continued, “I have so much respect for women who do their jobs really well and would never purposely try to offend anyone. It confuses me how people can get that upset when there are so many important things going on in the world. But, it’s obviously not going to stop me from working hard and being me.” In other words, Kendall has heard your complaints, but if Victoria’s Secret asks her to jeté down the runway, her only response will be, how high?
