⚠️ BREAKING CASE: MAN ACCUSED OF VI*LENT ASSAULTS IN MISSOURI HOUSING COMPLEX — POLICE WARN THERE MAY BE MORE VICTIMS

A man in Missouri is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he raped three women at an apartment complex, with investigators warning that additional victims may still come forward.

Lorenzo Gaines has been charged with four counts of rape, one count of sodomy, and one count of sexual abuse, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.

Allegations detailed in complaint

According to a criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE, investigators allege that Gaines met one of the women through Instagram and agreed to pay her for sex. However, when she arrived at the apartment complex on April 9, she reportedly expressed discomfort about having sex in a public bathroom.

Police allege that Gaines then pulled her inside against her will and sexually assaulted her, including placing a hand around her neck during the attack.

A second alleged incident occurred the following day, April 10, when another woman met Gaines at the same apartment complex. According to the complaint, she was forced into a bathroom, where he allegedly removed her clothing and raped her despite her repeated refusals.

A third alleged assault is said to have taken place on May 1, involving another woman who initially believed she would be paid for sex, according to investigators.

Police say more victims may exist

St. Louis County police have publicly stated they believe there may be additional victims who have not yet been identified. Authorities are urging anyone with information or similar experiences to come forward and contact detectives with the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons.

Gaines is currently being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court for a bond reduction hearing on May 11. It is not yet known whether he has entered a plea.

The investigation remains ongoing.
