On General Hospital, Dante Falconeri’s life is anything but simple. Balancing his duties as Port Charles’s acting police commissioner with the challenges of raising his troubled son, Rocco, Dante has had to navigate some intense family drama. For actor Dominic Zamprogna, portraying these moments has been made much easier thanks to the “soulful” young actor Finn Carr, who plays Rocco.
Zamprogna, who himself started acting at age 11, says Carr has grown into a truly impressive performer. Carr first stepped into the role of Rocco at just 15, debuting in July 2022, and as the character has matured, so too has the emotional depth of Carr’s performances. “He can act his butt off!” Zamprogna praises.
The actor fondly recalls the day he first realized Carr was a natural on-screen talent. Back in 2024, Dante was shot and lay in a hospital bed in a coma. “We hadn’t really worked together a lot up to that point, and I was worried about how the scene would go,” Zamprogna explains. “I really wanted the moment of Dante and Rocco seeing each other again to be big. I didn’t want to just gloss over it.”
His concerns vanished the moment the scene was filmed. “I opened my eyes, and he walked into the hospital room. Immediately, I was like, ‘Okay, this is awesome!’ I was crying, and then I heard him crying. It almost took me by surprise how in the moment he was. It was really cool. I still think about that two years later.”
As the storyline between Dante and Rocco grows even more intense, Zamprogna says it’s a pleasure to work with Carr. “It’s really easy to play this stuff with him because it feels like our connection is automatic. He’s a really soulful guy, and I feel like we’re putting some good stuff out there.”
Off-camera, Zamprogna praises Carr’s character and professionalism. “He is such a sweet kid, really wonderful, a good dude.” He also highlights the other young actors on GH, calling them “just a great little crew of young actors” and noting their talent and dedication. Among them are Giovanni Mazza (Gio), Braedyn Bruner (Emma), Asher Antonyzyn (Danny), and Bluesy Burke (Charlotte).
With such talent coming up through the ranks, it’s clear that General Hospital’s next generation of stars is in very capable hands.
