Atlanta, GA — Alphonce Smith, professionally known as Cyco Black of Crime Mob, is facing multiple felony charges after Atlanta police say he orchestrated a large-scale electronics theft operation across the metro area. Authorities allege the ring involved stolen laptops, phones, and tablets, and extended from local thefts to attempted international shipments.
The investigation began when victims of car break-ins used tracking technology to locate missing devices. That digital trail led police to Metro Mart on Metropolitan Parkway, a business owned by Smith, where investigators discovered stolen electronics being bought and sold. Officials say the operation also attempted to export stolen items overseas, with intercepted shipments bound for Hong Kong, recovering over $100,000 in merchandise.
An employee of Metro Mart was also arrested and faces similar charges. During a search warrant execution, investigators recovered additional stolen electronics along with marijuana and other items. Multiple police units were involved, including the Larceny from Auto Unit, Zone 3 Crime Suppression Unit, and the APEX Unit. Federal investigators have since joined the case.
Smith’s defense attorney, Nicole Fegan, emphasized his presumption of innocence, noting the toll such allegations take on him and his family. “My client is more than a headline or an accusation—he is a human being with a family, a reputation, a career, and a life that has been deeply impacted by these allegations,” Fegan said.
Crime Mob, rising to fame in the mid-2000s with their platinum-selling debut and influential follow-up album Hated on Mostly, became a cornerstone of Southern Hip-Hop during the crunk era. Their 2004 hit “Knuck If You Buck,” featuring Lil’ Scrappy, remains a defining track of that generation.
