That’s a wrap on the Maine event! General Hospital’s Eddie — AKA the version of Ned Quartermaine that stopped shaving and began wearing flannel — has returned to Ned’s mental tour bus with nary an encore performance.

Fans, and the whole Quartermaine family (what there is left of it), are no doubt relieved that the amnesiac busker didn’t re-surface after a near-drowning and failed attempt to copy the much-loved album cover of Nirvana’s Nevermind. And we’re all even happier that it’s Ned who emerged, recognizing that Olivia was the siren his alter ego had been searching for all along. The duo reaffirming their love at the Quartermaine boathouse was music to our ears. Thank goodness Ned’s not going anywhere, and neither is Wally Kurth!
But this doesn’t mean the beloved actor has stopped pulling double duty. Viewers can always load up Peacock and find him as Justin on Days of Our Lives, where he’s not losing his memory but instead gaining back a son — when the truth about Alex not being Victor Kiriakis’ child after all comes to light. (That kind of makes a little foray into flannel seem tame in comparison, doesn’t it?)
Here’s hoping Eddie Maine doesn’t stage another comeback tour quite yet. We, and his loved ones, still haven’t recovered from this one. And farewell tours are off the table, too — unless Cher come calling for a collab!
