On a day when Brazilian stars Vinicius and Rodrygo both scored braces, Real Madrid triumphed over Valencia 5-1 in the 13th round of La Liga at the Bernabeu Stadium.
Jude Bellingham’s injury has deprived Real Madrid of their key star in recent matches. However, the “White Swan” still managed to secure crucial victories to advance in the Champions League.
Vinicius scored twice in Real Madrid’s 5-1 victory
Last weekend, Real Madrid were held to a goalless draw by Vallecano, surrendering the top spot to Girona. Therefore, Coach Ancelotti’s squad understood that a victory against Valencia at the Bernabeu on the evening of November 11th was a must.
Without Bellingham due to injury, Ancelotti fielded a front three of Rodrygo, Vinicius, and Diaz from the start. Camavinga, Valverde, and Kroos took charge in midfield.
Real Madrid quickly took the lead 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Toni Kroos delivered a long pass from about 50 meters, expertly controlled by defender Dani Carvajal, who skillfully turned and executed a stunning volley that beat goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The brilliance of the attacking stars helped Real Madrid overcome the absence of Bellingham. The Brazilian duo of Rodrygo and Vinicius continued to shine, each scoring a brace of goals for themselves.
Rodrygo contributed to 4 Real Madrid goals against Valencia
Vinicius scored two goals in the 42nd and 49th minutes, while Rodrygo completed a brace in the 50th and 84th minutes. Additionally, Rodrygo provided two assists, contributing to a total of four goals in Real Madrid’s resounding 5-1 victory.
Valencia, the visiting team, struggled throughout the match and managed to score a consolation goal in the 88th minute when the game was already settled. Forward Hugo Duro found the net as Real Madrid’s defense lost focus.
The 5-1 triumph against Valencia further solidified Real Madrid’s second-place position in La Liga with 32 points, trailing table-toppers Girona by two points and holding a five-point lead over arch-rivals Barcelona. Valencia currently sits in 9th place with 18 points, facing challenges in securing a European qualification spot for the next season.
