Memphis rapper Finesse2tymes and his girlfriend FNG Shugga were arrested in Texas after police found drugs hidden in their Cadillac Escalade during a traffic stop in January, according to court documents obtained by Fox51.
The traffic stop occurred on January 14 around 9:39 P.M. in Rusk County when officers noticed the vehicle lacked a front license plate. Upon approaching, the trooper reported smelling marijuana. Finesse2tymes was driving, with Shugga in the passenger seat, who was discovered to have outstanding warrants.
A probable cause search uncovered orange pills believed to be Adderall and a small bag of marijuana in the front seat area. During her arrest, Shugga attempted to hide evidence, but officers caught her concealing a small bag of green leafy buds in her clothing. Finesse2tymes also had three additional Adderall pills found on him during the booking process at Rusk County Jail.
Both individuals faced multiple charges. Finesse2tymes was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and bringing prohibited items into a correctional facility. Shugga faced tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, weapon offense, and a U.S. Marshal detainer. Finesse2tymes posted bond quickly, while Shugga initially remained in custody on a $526,000 bond before her release.
Following the arrest, Finesse2tymes publicly accused fellow Memphis rapper MoneyBagg Yo of being involved in alerting police. He posted on Instagram, “Bagg put the police on me… Yall be wanting me to stay in jail so bad. I don’t carry nun but some Za and a yerk or 2. Yaw Nygas some real haters.” He also expressed concern for his girlfriend, writing, “I ain’t gone lie, I’m sick w out u Shug. On god don’t nobody know like her.” He continued in a follow-up post, directly addressing MoneyBagg Yo with further allegations regarding his cousin.
This arrest is the second in two months for the couple in Texas, following a previous September 2025 arrest on similar charges. Court records indicate Finesse2tymes is facing charges under Texas Penalty Groups 1 and 2, which generally pertain to high-risk substances including cocaine, opioids, ecstasy, and hallucinogens.
The arrest highlights Finesse2tymes’ ongoing legal struggles as he continues to pursue his music career.
