AJ Styles believes Chad Gable is currently operating at the highest level of his WWE career and says the company should take full advantage of his growing popularity.
Speaking on Phenomenally Retro, Styles had strong praise for Gable, arguing that the former Olympian has evolved into a bigger star than ever before and deserves a major push.
“I think he’s a bigger superstar than he’s ever been at this very moment,” Styles said. “If we don’t capitalize on that—and I say we because I’m part of WWE—if we don’t capitalize on this, we’re dumb. We’re dummies.”
Gable has received widespread praise in recent months for both his in-ring performances and character work, particularly through his various storylines and standout matches. Many fans and wrestlers alike have pointed to his ability to excel in virtually every role WWE has given him.
Styles also pushed back against any criticism related to Gable’s size, insisting that his wrestling credentials speak for themselves.
“Chad Gable is a legit freaking pro wrestler. There’s no way somebody in the crowd is going, ‘I think I could take Chad Gable.'”
The former WWE Champion went on to praise Gable’s background, appearance, and overall skill set.
“This guy is legit, and everything about him—his look, his ability… everything about him is scary. If you know anything about collegiate wrestling or pro wrestling, this guy can take care of business.”
Styles made it clear that, in his view, Gable has all the tools necessary to succeed at the highest level in WWE.
“So yeah—no, he’s legit. I don’t care. It has nothing to do with his size.”
As Gable continues to build momentum, Styles’ comments are likely to fuel further discussion among fans who believe the WWE star is ready for an even bigger spotlight.
