The clip of “love and affection” between two men and a 200 kg python has “stormed” Malaysian social networks.
In the clip, a python as big as an adult is wrapped around the waist of a man driving a motorbike. His companion sat right behind him to hold the python.
Both were comfortable despite being close to the “fiend” in the wild, even happily slapping and tapping the giant python’s body like they were playing a drum. Even though it was constantly disturbed, the animal did not stir and seemed to have been tamed.
Harian Metro’s report shows that this python weighed more than 200 kg. According to Mr. Datuk Abdul Kadir Abu Hashim, Director of the Department of Wildlife and National Parks PERHILITAN in Malaysia, the incident occurred in Kuala Krai district, Kelantan state on May 29.
Around 6:00 p.m. that day, a 34-year-old man, the owner of a rubber plantation in a village in Lubuk Simpul, Kuala Krai, accidentally discovered the giant python.
“They were concerned that this animal could threaten the safety of people. Therefore, they decided to capture the python and transport it to PERHILITAN to hand it over by motorbike,” he said . “Before that, the plantation owner contacted the staff of the Kuala Krai Wildlife Conservation Department at 12 noon the next day to inform them of this.”
After the clip appeared, the plantation owner apologized because he did not think it would spread so widely. “PERHILITAN received the python at 2:00 p.m. on May 30, then put it in a temporary cage in Kuala Krai,” Kadir said. Although the whole process seemed scary and dangerous, luckily no one was injured, including the big “uninvited guest”.
